Welcome Back For Term 1 ,TWENTY 17

Welcome back to Eternity Performing Arts for 2017. We hope you had a relaxing time over the Christmas period spent with friends and family. We as teachers are excited and gearing up for a year of growth, new experiences ,and challenges that this year will bring.

Our classes for 2017 will commence Monday 13th February and terms run in accordance to Primary school term dates.This year class names have changed. We have moved from grades in Hip Hop and Contemporary into Beginner, Intermediate and Senior where we are wanting to focus on ability not age.

This year we introduce three new classes; Jazz, Contemporary junior classes, and Contemporary Senior. This allows more children to explore new styles.We would also like to introduce the teachers at Eternity this year. Our lead teachers are Elleen Davids, Tamzin Naicker, Aimee Robinson, Natalia Sussex and Megan McGuire. We are happy to have Destiny Edwards on board assist- ing with Jazz 3 exam and Contemporary Junior and Luke Nelhams assisting in Boys Hip Hop. We also have our famous Rachel Cosslett who will be out relieving dance teacher when teachers are away.

We are also happy to inform you that we now have credit card facilities available for paying dance fees through your ‘enrolmy’ invoices. A once of payment for a full year results in a significant discount for you!

Make sure you check our new timetable.For viewing week we ask parents are asked to stay in the downstairs foyer during class time to minimise noise and distractions for our students. Each term we have two viewing weeks (week 5 and week 10) which allow you to have a look at what the students do in class and to see their progress.

During exam time (term 2), parents are welcome to come into the studio during classes with a device to record sets to help your child practice routines at home.

We are only just under two left until Showtime.Yes we cant wait for Saturday the 15th October to come any sooner.Dance costumes are getting their touch ups,the dancers are working really hard with extra practices and so much more going on behind the scenes.Tickets are on sale as we speak.Tickets are $17 adults and $10 kids up to year 13 and under 3 are free.With two shows at 2pm and 7pm ,there’s a seat waiting just for you.And with a change of venue this year at Glenfield College Theatre there is plenty room for you,family and friends,so come down and support the dancers as they take the stage.This year the dancers will take you on a journey through the different emotions we experience in life.

Whats Happening in Term 2

What’s been happening?

We have started 2016 with a bang and an introduction of new teachers, classes and competition classes, also the introduction of new uniforms that look very professional. Classes are growing nicely and we are looking forward to extending our open classes (open jazz, adults, remix and boys) as we move into show preparation.

We would like to personally thank you for all your patience around the new soft- ware ‘Enrolmy’ and uniform orders. We try hard to make everything run smoothly but sometimes things appear out of our control.

Term two invoices will be emailed to you before the end of Term Two and are due week one of Term Two. Please look carefully at the account number on your invoice if you are paying online as the suffix has changed from last year and a lot of you paid into our old ac- count for Term One.

Holiday classes:

As we have had two public holidays falling on Mondays we are having to catch up lessons in the School Holidays for exam classes.

Uniform Order:

We will be placing another order for Hoodies at the beginning of term two if your dancer would like to keep warm over winter. They are $35 and are available in grey and black. Also if you dancer would like the logo on their dance tights, it only cost $8.00 so please bring in the tights in a named bag.

We really proud of all dancers who have taken up the challenge of exams as it takes a lot of discipline and practice. Exams are coming up quickly and have been proposed for June 22nd—July 8th.

Examination fees need to paid to head office by 1st May so exam fees are due by 25th April (second week of the holidays).

We are hoping to have Jazz singlets and crop tops, Hip Hop singlets and tee, tights and hoodies available to purchase. We are looking into purchasing all clothing through our tee company. This will cost slightly more but will be able to be purchased quicker. All dancers are asked to wear eternity tops and hoodies. Crops and tights are optional. Photos and prices will be emailed through and placed on facebook when printing is done.

The Wizard of OZ Show 2015

Showtimes is around the corner.The Dancers have been working hard in the studio getting ready for the most anticipated dance show of the year.The costumes are been touched up and they are looking good.Thanks to all those involved in getting these costumes looking sharp.

So lock these dates in your calender  for either of our two shows.We have a 2pm and 7pm slot on the 31 October 2015 at 16b Poland Rd Glenfield. Tickets are on sale now ,make sure to bring your friends and family along to what giong to be an amazing show.Last year show was incredible and the support was amazing.

Whats Happening In Term 3

Hello and thanks for another amazing term. Well done to all our exam dancers, who all scored 75% and over. A big shout out to Megan’s Hip hop class who all achieved honours or higher. The teachers have all done a fabulous job.

·       Show date is Saturday 31st October.

·       Costume fees are due week one, with fees. Stephaine will send these out to you with your invoice in the holidays. Estimate costume fees to be around $25-30.

·       Eternity is looking for a logo to use for advertising and to be printed on logos. Please bring in your designs a.s.a.p.

May Update

Hello Dance Families,

Thanks for a successful term one and for being open to all the changes. It has been awesome to hear all positive feedback from all  the parents about the new teachers. Feedback is always helpful.

Next week is viewing week so you are welcome to attend. Please remember this is a viewing time and all parents and siblings need to be quiet in respect of the dancers. Parents I encourage you to video the classes if your children is thinking of sitting exams.

February Update

We would like to welcome back all dancers and families to another amazing year. This year there will be a few teacher changes as Elleen Davids is expecting her first baby early March. All teachers who are taking over are experienced and ready for an action packed term. (Elleen Davids will be overseeing).

This term we are focusing on preparing for exams, having fun and working on the performance skills of the dancers.

  • Classes starts Monday February 9th.
  • Elleen will be taking payments and registrations during the first week of dance or our preferred method of payment is online 06-0265-0119234-00. Payments after 11th February will incur a $10 extra fee.
  • Uniforms are available to purchase or order during the first weeks of dance. There are a few second hand uniforms available. First in first served. If you have uniforms you would like to sell second hand please hand them to Elleen named with your details.
  • This year as we have new teachers we are asking that the children call the teachers as following: Miss Megan or Miss Claire.
  • We will continue to have viewing times during weeks 5 and 10 of the term.

  • We are introducing a new conditioning class called ‘Stretch, leap and spin’ after the success of your swiss ball conditioning class. This is a syllabus designed by the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance. This class focuses on flexibility, turning and leap technique as well as performance skills. We strongly encourage all jazz (grade 4 up) and contemporary dancers to join this class.
